Jennifer was nominated by Dr. Karen Dwyer, who wrote: “It is astonishing what Jennie has accomplished.” For example, first-year students used to think of research skills as going to the university library and asking a librarian for help. Or doing a Google search. Jennie took bold steps to transform this process: serving as a liaison to the English Department to enhance information literacy ... developing workshops and activities related to specific assignments in English and Biology ... customizing a Web page linking to library resource materials ... providing feedback on students’ research skills and helping to identify cases of plagiarism … soliciting students’ feedback on library services as well, and answering students’ questions. In a true spirit of collaboration, she has added immeasurably to the work and lives of both faculty and students, for which we are so pleased to recognize Jennifer Duvernay.
