Charlotte from Dallastown, Pennsylvania

Submitted by York County Libraries Community Relations Director.

I received a handwritten note from 90 year old Charlotte of Dallastown, PA. I phoned her and she asked that I share her story with you as part of the National Library Week 2014 promotion.

Your column on libraries and their stories really struck home! I am a 90+ senior citizen who has always benefited from the books made available by her local library. I average at least one novel a week (if not more) from my Kaltreider-Benfer Library and Staff and will continue as long as they are available to me and other "over-age" people!

As evidence of my reading, I have recorded every book read since 1997 and even graded them and the authors!  Keep up the good work for many more "over-age"!
