But please be aware that not necessarily every library in the United States is a member of the American Library Association. ALA is a private professional nonprofit organization to which members must pay dues to belong. For more information on library mailing lists and labels and library directories, including the American Library Directory, which is not a membership directory of ALA but a listing of libraries around the country that is presently compiled by the publisher, Information Today, see the ALA Library Fact Sheet 3 - Lists of Libraries.
